Yeah it is pretty sickening to see the words governing body though out the entire article. I just had to cut and paste:

17 Of course, remembering the Governing Body involves not just words but also cooperation with its direction. The Governing Body provides the direction given in our publications and at our meetings, assemblies, and conventions. In addition, it appoints circuit overseers, who in turn appoint congregation elders. Circuit overseers and elders remember the Governing Body by sticking closely to guidelines given to them. All of us show respect for our Leader, Jesus, by being obedient and submissive to the men he is using to direct us.—Heb. 13:17.

18 Another way that we remember the Governing Body is by exerting ourselves in the preaching work. After all, Paul urged Christians to imitate the faith of those taking the lead among them. The faithful slave has exercised outstanding faith by zealously promoting and spreading the Kingdom good news. Are you one of the other sheep who supports the anointed in this vital work? How happy you will feel when your Leader, Jesus, says: “To the extent that you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”—Matt. 25:34-40.

Russia banning JWs might not have the "persecution effect" this time

russia banning the organization might not have the same effect as the earlier ban did decades ago.. more and more people have access to the internet.

it only takes a few russian jws to start their google search for the first time to discover the truth about their religion.. questions might arise, such as "why is jehovah allowing this to happen?

consider too, the schism that happened when the romanian jws were cut off from brooklyn.

Yeah they can't cry persecution this time it ain't gonna help, everything was done in an open court room not like the secret no tape recordings allowed JC process they got going to keep the sheep under control.

Any claim of unjust persecution just won't hold water and is sure to back fire on them.

The Watchtower is dead in the water on this one it seems and I think it is going to catch on world wide eventually and other countries will seek to get their people out of the harmful Watchtower clutches.

Yes they are extremist that will almost too gladly sacrifice many of their own members following some ill contrived idea that the bible forbids blood transfusions,, by using dubious scriptural interpretations and have no remorse. I call that extremist will no exaggeration.

Lets not get started on dismembership from the cult if one who votes, gets involved in politics, joins any one of a host organizations that the WT is at odds with, or someone choses not to believe everything the Governing Body teaches, and the list goes on and on so yeah they are pretty God dam extreme and really very very cuckoo for Jehovah the corporation's mascot.

Russian v Judicial Committee Justice

i have just been looking at jw news about the ban of jws.

they are complaining about how unfair the judicial process was.

Yes the kangaroo courts of a Watchtower organized Judicial Committee can't hold a candle to the Russian judicial system. The secret no recordings allowed, judicial committee meetings is the Watchtower's idea of justice properly served.

These guys are so in denial that they are evil extremist policy makers it is pathetic. That's why their defense was so poor and easily put aside they clearly are nut cases that need some serious reality checks and lot of psychological counseling I'm sure and no amount of clamoring for religious freedom will hide this fact.

I'm thinking this is just the beginning of governments cracking down Watchtower extremist antigovernment, anti-educational, forbidding blood transfusion by judicial committee enforcement.

Yeah and a lot of good a letter writing champagne is going to have on the Russian government with all the scandals the Watchtower corporation is facing in the courts and all the negative talk on the internet. These sleaze bags are final getting what coming to them in one country after another.

Apologists saying that the JWs shouldn't be banned, what the hell!??

it's been brought to my attention that there are xjw that say they support the witnesses and don't think russia should ban them.

i would just like to remind all of you that jws are guilty of murder, causing higher rates of suicide, covering up child molestation, and keeping members in prisoned because if they leave they loose family, financial support, possible employment etc.. sure their not strapping bombs to their chests but they easily get members to kill themselves with their blood policies.

they are an extremist group!

What I think would be a very nice gesture by the Russian government is to offer psychological counciling to help all members of the group.

The Watchtower mind control is banned and their indoctrination centers turn over to the government which is perfectly fine but the member are not banned they can still believe what ever they want they just won't have the influence of the Watchtower corporation any longer . Great I see nothing wrong in this method of banning it is all for the greater good of its citizens.

i just watched the live feed from the russian court room and followed the updates on the russian exjw forum.. just waiting for confirmation from other sources...but, it looks like the final (and expected) result is:.

banned.

which means that the wts property in russia now belongs to the russian state..

Could a petition to make shunning illegal work?

we're currently watching leah remini's series about scientology and the main thing she seems to focus on is the shunning policies of the scientology organization which let's face it are very similar to jw procedure.. i was wondering with all that's in the media recently about bullying could a petition be put together to get the goverment to consider making religiously mandated shunning illegal?

has such a thing been tried before?.

I'm thinking enforced shunning of someone because he is a homosexual might make the WT pay some big fines, perhaps that might be an angle that needs to be explored.

Enforced shunning one's own children might have its legal pitfalls that might as well offer form of costly lawsuits against wealthy corporation estate holding who are the enforcers.

we're currently watching leah remini's series about scientology and the main thing she seems to focus on is the shunning policies of the scientology organization which let's face it are very similar to jw procedure.. i was wondering with all that's in the media recently about bullying could a petition be put together to get the goverment to consider making religiously mandated shunning illegal?

I'm beginning to think that the printing corporation can be held liable for emotional damages it cause for it's corporate clones and whistleblowers who choose to express views held in contrary to corporation's directives. I feel that the amount fraud that could be proven in a open court would put WTB&TS at a great financial loss. Well I think there is some clever do good lawyer that work up the proper lawsuits to sink their ass and divide up the carcasses.
